The TerraCaching Philosophy
OUR STORY
Originally created in 2004 as an independent geocache listing service, TerraCaching has grown to an international community of geocachers with a desire for a quality experience. The current TerraCaching Team, based out of Houston, Texas took over in January 2011. Since that time, we have strived to create a website that meets our community's needs and allows room for continued growth. Our team consists of Christa, Cash, and Scott. We also have a strong development team who has created the wonderful site that we are sharing with you today. Their insights, knowledge, and hard work have been invaluable.
PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy is that caching should be a fun experience that focuses on creating quality experiences for our members, their families, and the entire caching community. We emphasize innovation and plan to continue improving TerraCaching.com for future geocachers.
We feel strongly that caching is a life enhancing experience. It provides an opportunity to be active, see new places, and form strong bonds with your caching community. It allows our members to be active with technology, learn navigation skills, and also experience the great outdoors.
UNIQUE APPROACH
TerraCaching differs from other geocaching games in several ways:
- By participating in the friendly competition provided by our formulas, TerraCaching has a rare gaming aspect that makes it appealing to many different types of members.
- Our decentralized sponsorship approach to cache approval provides a unique opportunity for an active caching community.
- Our members focus on creation of quality caching experiences and our formula system reflects these values.
