Can anyone sponsor someone, or is there a chain of command for this site?  I have looked over everything and although it shows some people have logged on lately, the forum sections are all very old dates.  Maybe because I'm not sponsored I cant see the actual posts?  Curious how all of this works.

Hello everyone.  Yest anyone can sponsor someone,  except for someone in your sponsor tree.  So in effect you can't sponsor a sock account, then sponsor yourself.

Unfortunately the community page is not utilized very often as members tend to spend more time caching using the Play section vs checking in here.  Some of the old post should be updated.  We have debated doing away with this part of the site.

Sponsors are supposed to be people that can mentor you through the site and about geocaching.  Some people sponsor many players others none.  On the site you can see what your downline is up to and this also allows you to sponsor say your children so you can keep an eye on their activity.
