Un-Archiving A Cache
To un-archive a cache, we have created the following standardized process:
- First, the member will contact administrators at [email protected] requesting to un-archive the cache.
- The un-archived cache will calculate an adjusted “date posted” to ensure that the TPS does not include the time that the cache was archived. Read more about this calculation in this resource.
- The cache will go through the approval process and will require the cache owner’s sponsors before becoming publicly available (similar to a new cache).
- A note will be included on the Cache Detail Page stating that the cache was un-archived and the adjusted date for TPS calculations.
This process has been created to ensure that the TPS value of a formerly archived cache accurately reflects the times that it has been available to members.

Also great to see this one go live. I have about a dozen archived caches, and hope to revive at least half of them. A couple were archived temporarily just before the Unarchive function on TC 1 stopped working, so they've been unavailable waaaaay too long.

I did my part by sending an email asking that four of my caches be unarchived, but I haven't seen any results yet. I know it's over the holidays, and I know Cash just moved house, but I'm wondering if any progress is being made on cache unarchiving?
And a question about step three above....when a cache gets that far in the unarchiving process, will it show up in our "caches awaiting approval" list?
