Archived cache map pin
In 2016 dexter submitted "Kill the dead caches" in the idea section. In the dialog it was mentioned: "And shouldn't an archived cache displayed on the map or grid have it's own colored symbol to show it's gone?"
Now that we have a check mark on the map pin for found caches, would it be possible to overlay the letter A for archived caches? Or reverse the color scheme, though that one might not be as intuitively obvious. Thanks.

This is another good idea from you for the whole community. Placing an "A" might work, but then I worry some people might think it means "Active" vs "Archived". I agree that the color scheme might also just add confusion. By default the map will show all caches both active and archived... A quicker solution might be to have the default only show active caches? What do you think about this? I have put this on our list to discuss and develop further. I welcome feedback from the Community.
We did add a feature because of dexter (and others) where you can turn on and off the archived caches. This is available for both paying and non-paying members. If you look to the left on your map you will see a Display Box, on the Cache Status you can check / uncheck the "Archived" and it will then not display the archived caches. I have attached a screenshot to help.
If you don't see the Display Menu click the three red bars just to the left of the "Grid" option. This will toggle on and off the Display Menu. Hope this helps in the meantime between program changes. Look forward to more feedback and discussions.

Sometimes you get used to doing things in one fashion that you forget to "search" around. Then you need someone to say, "Did you look here?" That's what I needed and suits my request just fine. With this checkoff feature, I personally don't see a need to mess around with the graphic.

A couple thoughts...
- make archived caches hidden on the map by default. That way they wouldn't be confused with active caches by those less familiar with the map features. You have to intentionally 'turn them on' to view them.
- as far as an overlay for archived map pins - how about a big, bold 'X' ?
